How 2009 Was For Me

|
Hello All

Once again another year comes to the end. This year has gone by extremely fast and it wasn't a great year either. I'm not actually sure what it was that wasn't great about it, but it wasn't!
In terms of photography, it was a quiet year. I didn't go to many gigs or shoot a lot of bands. Saying that, I have seen my all time favourite band (The Cult) this year, so I'm happy!

I think I only photographed 30 bands between the 10th January and 23rd December but then, I have been very selective in the gigs I went to.

Saying all that, I had some great success too. Being able to shoot Aussie band Jet doing an acoustic gig at a tiny venue and having a picture from said gig on the front cover of the Australian Times magazine, for example!

I had a couple of other publications this year:

The Foxes in Performing Musician (printed) and Arts and Soul magazine (online)
Jet at the Forum and The Butterfly Effect at ULU in the Australian Times magazine (printed)

and in January 2010 I should have another couple of pictures in Performing Musicians magazine.

I managed to shoot some great additions for my portfolio this year. A sign of getting better, luckier, or just better with Photoshop?!

But the best thing about 2009 was seeing some of my favourite bands getting the recognition they deserve and moving on to bigger and better things!

As for 2010... let's just wait and see how it goes...
