2010 Summary

|
Wow! That went quickly! 2010 was a bit like driving down a very long, very straight motorway way to fast. Yes, you get to the end very quickly, but nothing really happens along the way. At all!

I have seen some amazing bands this year (Placebo, We Are Scientists, Band of Skulls, to name a few) and I finally managed to go to my first Festivals (even camping once!).

All in all I went to about 50 gigs this year but shot only 26 different bands (some of them more then once obviously). This is a pretty good summary of my gigging year (but I don't think I've added every gig I went to)

Some highlights:

Favourite band: Secret Cinema! I came across them at the first gig I went to in 2010 and have seen them quite a few times over the year (6 times apparently). They released their deput album in November and it sounds brilliant! I suggest you check 'em out!

Favourite venue: Koko. I managed to get some great pictures shooting Bleech and Little Fish there.

Bleech at Koko April 2010

Little Fish at Koko April 2010

Biggest band I shot this year: Hmmmmm... How big are the Local Natives? They are kind of famous aren't they?

Bands to look out for in 2011: Well, Little Fish are recording their second album, Doll and the Kicks are still climbing up the corporate ladder, Bleech have finished recording their deput album and should release that sometime soon, The Foxes have been teasing us with an album release for ages (come on then!), Life in Film are busy recording an album, which should be finished soon and ready to be released later in the year and Secret Cinema should be doing very well, judging by the quality of their album. So my advice, check them all out and go and see each band at least once in 2011!

Best thing about 2010: I've met some amazing people this year!

Big thank you to everyone who came along to see a band with me this year, bought me a drink and made me laugh. More of the same next year please :) !
