End of Year Report 2008

|
I had another brilliant year and as 2008 draws to a close, I think it is time for another "End of Year Report".
2008 was my first full year of photography and a lot happened in the last 12 month, including getting my first photo pass and getting a new camera.

Let's start with some stats:

I went to 46 gigs, shooting 44 different bands in 28 different venues. The smallest venue was about 75 capacity and the biggest about 2000 capacity! My first gig of 2008 was on the 4th January at The Barfly and my last was on the 18th December at the Water Rats.

My favourite band: Funny enough, the last band I shot this year, Life in Film. They blew me away with their brilliant songs and a sound that lies somewhere between The Editors and Kings of Leon.
My favourite venue: It has to be the biggest venue I shot at this year, The Forum. The big stage and lights allowed me to take the best pictures I have ever taken!

Most famous band I shoot: Possibly The Quireboys, but I don't actually know who they are .

Band that will make it: Last year I nominated Little Fish and I was almost right. Watch out for them next year when their album (recorded with Linda Perry) will be released. My tip for next year is Doll and the Kicks! Watch out for them on MTV in January and catch them on tour with Morrissey during Spring.

Favourite picture taken this year: It has to be this one from The Whybirds' set at The Forum.

I haven't really made any plans for next year, but I am rather excited about 2009. Hopefully I get the chance to do some more photography at bigger venues and see my favourite bands grow bigger and bigger.

See you in front of the stage!
